Here’s an overview….
We perform most often as a duo or trio. Andy plays guitar and harmonica and sings; Sara plays mandolin and adds to the vocals; Greg plays squeezeboxes, keyboards, and fiddle as needed. We normally use pre-recorded bass and drum ‘tracks’ that give us the freedom to play melodies while helping keep volume (and budget) under control.
Mountain Brew (duo/trio) specializes in Americana (old-timey, bluegrass, classic country, folk, blues, Cajun) or Irish music. We play a lot of picnics, barbecues, reunions, and barn dances.
Retro Ramblers (duo/trio) plays ‘oldies:’ mainly 1950s-’80s pop, light rock, skiffle, and country standards. Or Retro Christmas music. It’s a nice variety of music for dancing or listening.
The Porchdogs (duo, trio, quartet, quintet) has been playing spicy Louisiana Cajun and zydeco and New Orleans pop music since 1992. Good for themes like Low Country Boil, Swamp Party, Mardi Gras, etc.
Pickin’ & Grinnin’ — two farmhands who are outstanding in their field present a mix of jokes, music, and audience participation. We often do events for kids — and elders like ourselves.
